06/05/2009 REPORTS: WY, NE, CO

I finally got my chase account up from the 5th as well. It's been a long week!

http://www.benholcomb.com/20090605.html

I've got a couple videos up as well.
The first one is just of the tornado tripodded.

The second one is a little bit longer, including the whole day

At the end (Right after we go by the DOW at 5:30) it looks like another tornado. We were just east of Dalton looking at the storm from behind, and I'm not sure anyone else saw it. I'm still not sure it was a Tornado, but it sure looked like one. Did anyone else observe this?

The Missouri State Chase Class was a success. We ended the trip intercepting the La Grange, Wyoming tornado. All the videos and stories can be checked out at: http://msustormchase.ning.com/video

It ended up being a historic day for all, Vortex 2 was able to collect all important data and Missouri State University successfully intercepted a photogenic tornado that showed the entire life cycle of a tornado in all stages. The first ever course offered of its type at MSU and we managed to get the job done!

The trip began with many close calls. We wouldn't have had a shot at the La Grange rope had we not played the DVCZ the day before. . .

Intercepted a beautiful tornadic supercell west of La Grange, WY, with a long-lived tornado that was perhaps the most sampled tornado in history. We followed this supercell eastward with time, with several more deployments along the way.

Yes I know, we were very close, even a bit to close...
Lots of excitement in the car especially towards the end of the video when large hailstones exploded one of the side windows which scared the person who was on the back seat...
Oh, we are french speaking storm chasers from Switzerland and France, so if you don't understand what we're saying in the video, please feel free to ask me ;)

Have fun!
