• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

    I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

    For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

    From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Is it me or is the Streator couplet passing over the town of Dwight? I hope not.

Unfortunately it now appears that Dwight, IL is taking a direct hit...

reports coming out of Streator of people trapped, state police reporting a large tornado on the ground west of I55 and just south of rt 17

AT 928 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AND STORM
SPOTTERS WERE TRACKING A LARGE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO. THIS
TORNADO WAS PRODUCING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE IN DWIGHT. THIS TORNADO IS
MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH.

Wow yet another town looks to be sustaining damage from a damaging tornado. A very sad day in Illinois. Very strong wording as well. This will move very close to Kokanee if it stays on current course and that is a much more poluated city.

Very impressive couplet still showing up as well.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND RAPIDS HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
CENTRAL CALHOUN COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MICHIGAN...

* UNTIL 1115 PM EDT

Just my luck, I travel to Milwaukee to visit family, and a storm goes tornado warned just a hop, skip and a jump away from my house. Also, that cell marching across northeastern Illinois looks like a monster. Definitely one of the most obvious tornado signatures I've seen in the Great Lakes region recently.

Looks like the rotation couplet on the Kankakee Storm might pass just to the south of the city. Still will be a close call.

I just got back from a 4 day chase in the high plains with chaser Sean Lyon and only saw a few spin ups. I get home and there is a rotating wall cloud over my house between Ottawa and Streator as well as a long track (unfortunately damaging) wedge 10 miles away-so goes chasing!

DELAYED REPORT. ON I-39 JUST SOUTH OF LOSTANT...SEMIS BLOWN OFF I-39 EAST INTO CORNFIELD. SEMIS WERE ESTIMATED AT SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET INTO CORNFIELD.

Wow, that is just incredible. Semis being blown over is one thing, but being blown several feet away from the road!! That's just amazing.

AT 1023 PM CDT TRAINED SPOTTERS REPORTED A VERY LARGE TORNADO ON THE
GROUND...POSSIBLY UP TO A MILE WILE JUST NORTH OF SAINT AN

I wonder since this was close to Kankakee how populated the area is

Strong rotation passed just over my house. Have to watch from afar, as I'm out of town. Thankfully, nothing occurred on the ground according to wife.
