Pay dirt finally for V2. Wish I was there. After teasing for awhile with several well defined funnels the storm finally produced a tornado (with full condensation to the ground) at 1705 CDT. Still on the ground at 1714 CDT.

Funny hearing the Dr on TWC keep calling it a classic wedge. Watch out Kimball, wouldn't doubt it lasts that long(the storm), probably just miss there to the north.

Yes several times, from the onset about. Today sure ain't the first time. I wish they had a wide angle lens on there right now. From Roger's shot earlier, I imagine there is some crazy structure right now. Something sick is going to come of this next. Wish I were there.

Yeah, Bettis is too. Tornado is in the ropeout stage now and is an elephant's trunk. Glad I sat out today!

Radar now is also showing a wind down from the tornadic phase. With it being all isolated and still in a decent environment, I think it is likely for further cycles.

Perhaps I should use the "interact with Mike" feature on Twitter to remind Mike Bettis that what he was seeing was not a wedge tornado, as it's width was not greater than it's height (at least from what I could tell in any of the video shots).

It is sad to me the lack of storm structure understanding by these guys on TWC. Forbes is way lost, keeps saying he's down on the gust front when that's not what he is looking at. Unless I'm completely missing something.

Weather Channel live video showed an amazing ropeout, especially when the tube within the tube showed itself. Great stuff, can't wait to see the V2 data. TWC isn't doing horrible but it's pretty apparent that Bettis doesn't have much field experience... and I can't believe Dr. Forbes was calling that a wedge.

Strengthening rotation on radar might indicate an imminent freak out of Mike Bettis.

Looks like it is getting too much cold air and is dissipating/wringing out the storm. TVS is still seen on a couple of GR3 frames.

It was an awesome show; sure would have liked to have been there and 'tasted' the air...

It was an amazing tornado for sure. Looks like the storm is having a hard time getting its act together again. Just found out I had my camcorder on standby during the amazing white rope-out.

I'm not sure V2 was able to collect a "great" data set due to lack of roads in that area. Deployment as shown in their plan would not have been pretty tough.

Looking at the KCYS radar loop there appears to have been a very small and subtle cell that was ingested from the southwest right as it tornadoed. Even though the supercell had an amazing radar signature from 21:48z on, it just couldn't drop one until the cell merger @ 22:06z. It will be interesting to see some of the mobile doppler data to see if the outflow from the tiny cell gave the needed boost to the supercell's RFD for tornadogenesis, or possibly the supercell just needed to get that little cell out of the way to get the richer inflow.
