• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

In the spirit of the "Best of Threads" I am curious what the oddest or most unusual or unexplained weather is that you have ever photographed. It does not have to be 2008. Seems we all have some like the (kings foot photo on another thread)

In my case I have a few that stick out in my mind: (click on photos for larger version.)

Unusual:

Horseshoe Vortices:

Mini Multi Vortex type (shear?) funnel:

Unexplained:

This was the updraft area of a storm last year near Humbolt KS. Is this a non embedded wall or what? Note Funnel. This is the SW end of the cell looking E on a NE mover. This is feeding the cell just out of sight to the left. (See Video)

Video previous to taking the stills! Might give an idea of the whole structure.

very unusal wish I had a camera to photograph it

It was in the 1980's late, and I was on Mission Avenue at the Old U of Kansas Regents center campus in one of the classrooms about a mile north of I-435, Overland Park ,KS.

In between a break in the class, I look north out the classroom as I hear there's a thunderstorms and severe weather nearby.

There was this tube like structure stretching all the way from the North stretching Southward. There was the jet like stream going through the "tube" at a very high rate of speed heading toward I-435. It was not rolling - the stream was going through the "tube" like water through a hose.

Maybe it was a type of beavertail?

I have never been able to figure out what the heck it was . I heard there was a funnel over near I-435 which I could not see but I could not confirm that.

Anyone have a clue or taken a photo something like it so I can get some closure on this enigma?

Any help appreciated

Size? Color? Height? was it ending in a cloud or just horizon to horizon?
