I got one of these (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...A0.H0.Xjvc+ad.TRS0&_nkw=jvc+adixxion&_sacat=0) after my 2 Midland action cameras were stolen last June (along with most of my cameras). If you're looking for an action camera, it is a great option for a good price. I would get a good HD camera before I would go the action camera route though. Some of the canon HD cameras that use SD cards have gotten pretty cheap as well.

Marcus, if you need a tripod I have an extra now (3 total) since I finally bought me a nice Sanford & Davis tripod. The S&D tripod was worth every penny, especially since I bought it broken and just replaced the head.

how does it compare to the go pro cameras ... i have had them in the past and this looks similar

Another option is to rent one. Im renting a GoPro 4 from ATSRentals.com for $77 for something like 21 days. I decided to rent just for the fact that I figure every 3 or so years this kind of tech is obsolete anyway. So instead of paying full price to upgrade again in a few years, im only spending half that with up-to-date tech.
