• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Which Tablet Can Cope with GRL3 Graphics?

Hi all,
just wondered if anyone can confirm that the on board graphics installed in various Tablets can cope with the high resolution output from GRL3? Looking for something around 10 inches maybe a Windows Tablet. Not sure if any of the Android tablets will cope? Also would like to know what the minimum spec should be? Thanks in advance.

Fed up with dragging my 19 inch heavy HP notebook from hotel room to hotel room each year.:(

I have a Toshiba Encore that does very well with GR3. It's about 299 anywhere you look. I like mine-it has wifi, but no cellular connectivity so you will need a cradlepoint router for in the car.

For Android I'd recommend PKYL3, as I'm pretty sure GRL3 only works with Windows XP or higher. If I'm wrong someone please chime in. Please see the minimum GRL3 specs at the bottom of this page. I don't have a tablet recommendation per se, but there are some nice Windows convertibles that function as a notebook or tablet, such as the Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11s and 13 found here. Those bad boys are on my short-list the next time I purchase a new laptop and/or tablet. They give you the best of both worlds in one package.

What has been your experience using GR3 on a touchscreen, and a fairly small one at that? I'm concerned that the program is still fundamentally designed for desktop use, and using touch gestures to navigate the menus (e.g., to switch products) might be difficult, especially on the road.

It is different, but manageable. I just got the tablet for Christmas:) and I plan on using it chasing this year along with a laptop for backup.

Hi all thanks for replies,
Would 32 GB hard drive cover the GRL3 installation OK?

PS. Used PKYL3 as back last year on the cell phone. Though resolution by comparison to GRL3 suggests it should remain a back for us!

Sounds like the tablet is becoming a good alternative for chasers. Hopefully dump the HP lead slab this year! :)

I've been using a tablet for about 3 years now with Pykl3 and Radarscope. I have an older ipad and a Samsung Galaxy tab and would never go back to a laptop for chasing. I don't mess with streaming, so the tablet is a perfect alternative for me.

I used a Toshiba Thrive for several seasons running PYKL3 and was thoroughly pleased.

But I have since moved up to the Microsoft Surface PRO and it runs all video, NAV, Mobile ThreatNet, GR Level 3 AND GR Level 2 without the slightest hiccup.
