• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Whats the story on 3gstore.com and Verizon?

New Verizon 760 EVDO modem.

Just recently purchased a new home in a rural area. When Im out there I have according to my Verizon phone a good EVDO signal.

Being that its rural there is no broadband connection. I will say they have a telephone DSL package available but, I must buy their phone service ( dont need ). Additionally all together with the broadband and the phone service its like almost $80 just to have broadband piped into my home.

So Im thinking hell why not EVDO and be mobile.

So my questions are.

1. I know this has probably been beat to death but - Anyone here with Verizon EVDO how do you like it? Is it slow, fast? What is your ovverall opinion for general everyday use and chasing of course.

2. 3G store.com. They want me to sign a 2 year agreement plan. We already have Verizon service. Is this something that is industry specific? Im assuming a 2 year plan with them or any Verizon store? Additionally say I hate Verizon EVDO after using it for awhile what does it cost me to get out of my contract? WE have always been happy with Verizon. I dont want to create problems that will possibly make me unhappy.

3. Any positive or negative experiences with 3gstore?

Thnaks for any insight. I know this would be a really good place to get first hand experience and knowledge for this application.

If you use it for home and mobile - odds are you will blow your overage charges out of the water...

You might consider getting an Alltel card before Verizon officially takes them over. Currently they have no cap on their data services. Im sure this will change when Verizon takes them over but the word is they will honor all previous accounts at this time.

I would go with AT&T or Alltell and be contract and free. Both of them do not care about how much data you use and abuse :)
