• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

im looking at getting a professional website online, i have looked into intuit websites and such places as go daddy. any thoughts on where to look in getting started with a basic page to post my pics and advertise my work? any input would be great. thank you

SmugMug has a deal with Go Daddy and if you have a Smug account you can get your own domain name and and build your own site....Very inexpensive and very easy to design your site.

The best idea is to learn one of the many CMS programs out there. I suggest either learning wordpress or Drupal as those are the two best on the market (and free) at the current time. You'll want to then pick a web host - There are plenty out there. You mentioned one of them that's GoDaddy which will be cheap, but mostly slow (they overload their servers). A lot of people I know have had good luck with bluehost. David Drummond also runs drylinehosting on here, which is a webhost more catered to storm chasers.

With a CMS, you can customize themes and add content on the fly. It's as easy as changing a theme to change the look of your site. My personal site runs on Drupal 6.

I use Bluehost as my web hosting service and have had no issues so far. My site runs a mix of Joomla and Wordpress. As Ben said, learning a CMS is key. Good luck! :)

I use smugmug, getting ready to start customizing it to my liking in September, and also going to buy a domain name to direct it. Smugmug is pretty operational, and has lot's of features.
