• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Just wanted to let anybody that was interested know...

The episode of the new series "WeatherVentures" featuring SevereStudios co-founders Kenny Allen and Kory Hartman (Kelly Martinson) debuts TONIGHT on The Weather Channel.

Our segment is the last 8-10 mins of the show.

More info at www.severestudios.com

Thanks!

Anybody Watch

Hello Everyone,
With all of the talk about the TIV show, Tornado Hunters, and Twister Sisters, I am wondering if anyone caught the four minute segment featuring SevereStudios chasers in the Weather Channel show "WeatherVentures"?

We are happy that they used a lot of our footage, discussed our dedication to warning people through the NWS and local media reports, and that we could promote safe, responsible chasing. (Even though the host of the show was looking for a chasing thrill ride....)

We are hoping that all of you felt that we represented the chaser community in a positive and respectful manor.

While we did not get the "air time" that some of these other shows have received, we were very honored that they took the time to interview us in South Dakota. Anything we can do to further inform the public about weather safety is a great thing.

I've watched your streaming video on a few of your chases - pretty darned cool!
I was hoping to catch it on a repeat but haven't seen it. Do you have it on a WMV or YouTube that we can see it?
thanks,
_V

I think Weather Channel has let some older videos on Youtube from events a few years back, probably for education and posterity, it seems WC might not let something so recent stay on for long

By the way, I've seen twister sisters and the outlaw special but I missed this TIV show. What is it, what channel is it on, and when does it/did it come on?

It was called 'Storm Chasers' on the Discovery Channel, there were 4 episodes and 2 additional 'Science of Storm Chasing' episodes. Those were up on YouTube and may still be. But how long or whether they should be posted is a whole 'nother Oprah.

They were supposed to re-air it on the 26th, but I guess I didn't check.

I think you can still watch a .wmv here:
