Tropical Storm Chantal forms!

The Depression that formed between Bermuda and the New England coast as been upgraded to tropical storm status as of thismorning. Looks like this may brush the coastal sections of New Foundland within 36 hours as its moving quickly off to the northeast.

Anyone up for a quick chase to St. John to see some rough seas and 40 knot gales??!!

Isn't that pretty much any given day in the winter?

The funny thing is my wife spotted this thing on Saturday. She happened to see a satellite loop and she noticed that mid-level spin off the coast. I mistakenly dismissed her claims that it was going to develop into something.

And I am looking the latest model runs and I wish I could book an airplane ticket to Iceland(Island might get extratropical Chantal). It is highly doubtable that it makes it to Estonia, especially with a high setting in over Scandinavia...
