Tropical Depression 5 Advisories Being Initiated

Tropical Low over the Northern GOM definitely has a good circulation but little convection noted north of the center. So, not the best organized TD yet but it should continue to organize.

Tropical Storm Warnings being issued beginning at 5pm Sunday for Lousiana.

the GFS and NAM do not have favorable upper level winds for the next day or 2. I dont see this one ammounting to much. The GFDL takes it up to high end TS/low cat 1 but I just dont see that happening. I like the HWRF a bit more based on upper level winds; the 12z run shows no signficant developement.

Looks like the title of this thread needs to be updated. As of 5pm CDT the NHC has upgraded TD-5 to Tropical Storm Edouard. Looks like I may be taking a trip to visit family in Houston soon.

The whole system looks very ragged on IR satellite right now. I wouldn't expect anything major out of this storm either over the next several days.
