Great stuff. Also, witnessed it here in Cedar Rapids for the first time. Actually happened 3-4 times. Didn't catch it on film though. Thanks for posting.

We had thundersnow in the Dallas area on January 14th, it's the first I've experienced since living in Boston in the early 1980's. Three widely spaced lightning discharges over about 45 minutes; unfortunately they were so widely spaced I didn't see the flash though one lit up the bedroom. (if they had been more frequent I would have been glued to the window watching for them) The thunder was very loud. At the time we were receiving a moderate shower of graupel.
Eventually the graupel turned to regular fat flakes and swiftly accumulated. Our back yard recorded 3/4" with this storm, a nice accomplishment for these parts.
