Temperature-Dew point difference: Is this a record?

5:00 Mountain time this afternoon - Grand Junction temperature 97, dewpoint -5. 102 degrees difference. Delta also not to shabby at 98 degree difference. Is this a record or close to it? Seems like huge difference. Regardless, no rain happening today.

Not sure if it is a record for those locations (it probably is). Las Vegas back in late June in 2011 did register a 107 over -21 (which I think was a record for them at the time).

The Iowa Environmental Mesonet probably has a tool somewhere that you can look up such records. I couldn't find it myself, but I asked Daryl Herzmann, who runs the IEM, to help. Hopefully I can report back soon.

Wow! Guess it happens more than I might have thought. Not far from a record for Grand Junction, though.
