Sounds like a really bad snow season for skiing/climbing in the Swiss Alps:

What's really bad was that the first avalanche hit a group of skiers. Then a rescue party got caught in a second avalanche. One of the people, an Englishman, was rescued after being buried under eight feet of snow!
After the second avalanche, they mounted a massive rescue operation with eight helicopters and 100 rescuers.
Any comments or thoughts??
