Super Typhoon Sepat (09W) in WPAC

Currently pegged to hit Taiwan as a strong category 4 in about 36 hr. Right now has winds of 135 kt, down from 140 kt earlier. Currently it is going through an eyewall replacement cycle.

Looks like the storm is going to make landfall with fairly well-defined concentric eyewalls.

Quite an impressive storm! The inner eyewall would not breakdown...and was apparent in Vis/IR for an extended period of time (which is much more difficult than seen in Microwave Imagery). It finally fell apart right at land fall and completely filled in the eye with convection as seen in IR and Radar.
