• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Saw this shared on FB this morning, also observed she had several mutual friends in the community, so thought it was worth a share here.

"Kelsey Faye Weaver, from Mangun, Oklahoma, has not been in contact with her family or husband after she began storm chasing yesterday.

Reportedly, Weaver was with another unnamed male occupant at the time of the chase yesterday.

Online reports indicate Weaver was last seen wearing jeans, turquoise cowgirl boots (possibly Ariat’s), black long-sleeved v-neck shirt. She was also driving a blue four-door car, with a “Storm Chaser” sticker on the trunk. The vehicle is possibly a Ford model.

Last known contact with Weaver was made from Bowie, Texas – as she was heading towards Decatur, TX."

I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, but I wonder what lead the mother - or anyone - to think that she was missing? I know from my past experience chasing in Texas I sometimes went days without talking to anyone in my family. A lot of times cell phone reception was iffy, at best, and wouldn't even allow me to make calls. Either way, I'm glad that she is safe.

Location sharing for family members is useful for this type of thing, several options are available (Google being the easiest) and you can turn it off when not needed.

Totally, I have an iPhone and have location sharing enabled and shared with my brother so he can just pull up the "Find my.." app on his phone and see my exact location. I have no idea if this will ever come in handy, but at least I know he can easily pull it up and find my location if needed.

I too felt this story was a little fishy. You have a married female out with an "unnamed" male occupant. She's reported missing before 24 hrs even pass from her departure to chase. If they had car trouble, there's a town within walking distance a few hours from anywhere in the area they were in. If it was a lost or broken cell phone, surely they could find a way to make contact. I'm gonna guess there's way more to this than the public is ever gonna know.

The outlet that came from is a benchmark fake news outlet. The guy that runs it has had more than his fare share of trouble, both in and out of the chasing community. Dude lives like 20 minutes from me.
