• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I was wondering if anyone was using a Sprint HTC phone with their chasing. I know the thread says 4G, this is because I am thinking about snaggin this up when it comes out this summer. I just wanted to get some feed back from all of you about the phone if anyone uses it, what kind of weather apps and other cool chasing apps there are to use.

Thanks!

I just went a played with the Verizon equivalent version of that phone the other day which is the HTC Incredible and it was nice. The phone you are referring to is going to be called the EVO which will be the first 4G capable smart phone out and it will be a beast! It will be super quick with snap dragon 1ghz processor. Only thing I hope is that it is built a little sturdier than the VZW version. It felt really plastic-y and not very durable. Anyway, it will run Android and so far the weather apps for it aren't that great. It'll be a really good phone though!

Are the data caps the same? If so, what's the point of extra speed, I believe you could blow through a 5gig data cap in less than 15 minutes on 4g if I did my math right.

Can you talk and use data at the same time ??

Stuart, on CDMA networks like Sprint and Verizon you can't really use data and talk at the same time. I can on my plam pre look at e-mail and talk but if I bring up the web it will not let me make a call. GSM networks like ATT will let you talk and use data at the same time.

Right now, Sprints 4g is unlimted last time I looked. But it does cost more a month than the 3g part.
