I'm about to get my Sprint broadband modem for my Mac Powerbook G4. It seems I have two choices, the Sierra Wireless Aircard 595U or the Novatel Wireless Ovation U727. The Novatel has a somewhat extendable loop antenna, giving it an edge in my book. But it's also $99 with the two-year contract, while the Sierra card is free (with the 2-year contract.)

I thought I'd put it out there to see what y'all think. Thanks in advance for any advice you might have.

All I can tell you is that I own the Novatel U720 and it has worked wonderfully. Have you visited http://www.evdoinfo.com and read the reviews there? They're very helpful...

Basically about the same performance wise . Not much to chose between them . They both Rev.A . The U727 does have Flashcard memory included if you want to back stuff off your hardrive

I have the sierra 595U. Even though I haven't had it for very long, I have been satisfied with it.

Thanks to all for chiming in. Evdoinfo.com was especially helpful, Jerry.

From what I gather, all the cards work the same, but since the Franklin CDU680 has an external antenna jack, I'm leaning toward getting that device.

Another U720 user here. Has worked perfectly so far, and the option to add the memory card is of benefit as well.
