No doubt I'm behind many folks, but I finally got everything together and into the van for the season. For the first time, I put some photos together, too. Didn't look like there were any terribly recent "photos of my setup" type posts, so started a new thread for anyone else who would like to post.

Hope everyone in Denver had a great time!

I've taken advantage of the nice weather to get things setup. I accomplished my goals of keeping things simple and normal looking. All the photos of my setup can be seen here...

I hope to get one season out of this car and laptop, so I didn't want to spend much money. I ended up making a laptop mount for $15. All you need is plywood, some 1"x2" scraps, a 2"x4" scrap, 2 Eye Bolts, a bungee, some L Brackets, some non-slip drawer liners, and the waist band out of a ratty pair of underwear! :D

If that isn't redneck, I don't know what is!!

That's a RAM mount for the laptop, correct?

How does it ride? Any rattles, vibrations, etc?

Yes it's a RAM, I'd give it a "Good" rating (7 out of 10). It's kind of a get what you pay for deal, there are no doubt better mounts out there, but for the money it's not bad, and no doubt it beats the $40 homemade setups. It does have a rattle noise to it, though I fixed that by adding some padding/stuffing between the rattling parts. It rides ok, but on rough dirt roads you do get quite a bit of movement, though I guess that’s probably better than being completely stiff, as this allows the mount to absorb some of the shock as opposed to the computer. I think my computer might be on the verge of being to big for the mount, though as it is I would probably buy one again, as well as recommend it to someone, esp. if you're on a budget and can't afford the top of the line mounts...

Took a few crappy photos of my vehicle on the chase today... things are kinda of strewn about since it was post-chase, but you get the picture I guess.

The little webcam mounted on the dash there is the camera I'm using for streaming. Just a Logitech Pro9000 that I picked up for about 60 bucks that worked out amazing! Then I've just got a cheap Sony MiniDV mounted on the windshield for a dash cam while my HV30 is in use.

Andrew, loved your streaming chase video this weekend. What is the mount on your windshield? Is that a large suction cup? How do you like it? Is it still available?

I believe the windshield mount you guys are inquiring about is the Film Tools Gripper mount. It uses the Wood's Vacuum cup.

I bought one towards the end of last year and love it! Easy to install or take off and holds very well. Here's the link for it.

Here are a couple pics of my new ride. Sorry about the sun brightness. This is my first time posting pics.

Once I get my camera mount rebuilt for the Liberty, I'll post some pictures. Unfortunately, there's hardly any room on the passenger side for a laptop mount, so I'll have to leave that one out. Hopefully, I can finish things up this week.
