All: I am a spotter for Curry County NM. Today (25 May 2010) there was a very nice out break of sever weather in our area. I was out all day and there was a couple of reports for tornados. I never saw one or know anyone who spotted one. Is there a way to look at archived radar data for the Cannon AFB doppler radar? I have questions about a feature I saw and not 100% sure if I reported the correct feature. I am learning and I know I will screw up thus I am willing to learn from my mistakes. Thanks! Jeff

Just as John said, you can pull the data from NCDC (http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/nexradinv/). I'd recommend using an FTP program if you're going to request a longer range so that you're not having to download each file individually through your browser.

Hope this helps a little.

Hardy; If you are a GR level 3 owner. Log yourself in and check this out.

http://www.grlevelx.com/owners/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4554

That link contains a program that unzips and prepares archived level 3 data for use in your GR level 3 browser. All you have to do is go to http://hurricane.ncdc.noaa.gov/pls/plhas/HAS.FileAppSelect?datasetname=7000 and select your time and site. Once you have been emailed with the link. Simply run the program and drag and drop the individual files onto your GR level 3 browser. I believe this program is exclusive to GR level 3 owners, so If you havent bought it. Buy it, then log into the owners forum. You will find new information, updates, and tweaks are regularly released.

Thats the best thing going right now unless you have analyst. Check it out and tell me how it works for you. The program is run in command prompt and may be difficult to use at first, but one you get it youve got it!
