Push notifications from very old threads

I've gotten several push notifications from the Stormtrack app recently that are from threads that haven't had posts in a very long time. Just now I received a push notification for this thread:

Last post was March 2017

Anyone else getting these? Am I missing an obvious reason for getting them? I'm running Android 7.0 (Nougat) on a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus with AT&T which is the highest offered on the device.

I’d just go to your account settings per the attached image and remove it from your watched threads or forums list. You get there by clicking on your name in the header toolbar.
