just found out about this

Good afternoon,

If ordering a pizza was on your agenda for the week, do it Thursday!! This Thursday, May 10th, Pizza Hut restaurants across the state of Kansas are donating 20% of profits to the United Way Greensburg Disaster Fund. The money will directly benefit those affected by this past weekend¹s tornado.

Spread the word!

I don't think it's every Pizza Hut store. Per an email I got earlier the only Pizza Huts that we own in Kansas that are doing this are the ones in Topeka, I work at NPC International which is the largest Pizza Hut franchise. I'm not sure why only a select few are doing it, wish all of them was.

We have Pizza huts throughout southeast Kansas, but for whatever reasons only the few we own in Topeka are involved in this.

Correction, just got this email:

I know many of you have received questions and e-mails regarding Pizza Hut's tornado relief effort this Thursday. NPC Kansas locations will proudly support these efforts. Please see information below for further details. Thanks.

So far this has been great success, we were just told here at the Corporate Office that our stores are being hit hard by orders coming in. Our local stores alone have 45 orders backed up with 5+ min wait time on delivery/carry-out.

So they're donating 20% of profit and pocketing the remaining 80%? I guess I shouldn't be a grouch about it, but come on, Pizza Hut, donate it all. It's just one day.

Tim

yeah Tim you are right but

yeah Tim you are right but I guess business is business. I thought about asking Papa Johns and some of the other ones whether they could do better then 20%. But I guess have to be grateful that Pizza hut is trying I guess

And as far as I know from the message I got
It was for all pizza huts in Kansas.
if this is not right please inform us

I agree, with as much money as Pizza Hut makes you'd think they could do better than 20%.

While on the topic of donating, what do you guys think about this?

I wanna do something to raise money for the victims, I thought about getting a $50 wal-mart gift card (out of my own pocket) and here at work setting up a raffle where people could donate money for a chance to win the gift card.

Only if you get more than $50 in donations. Otherwise, skip the giftcard and give the money directly to charity.

The owner of my company just bought Pizza Hut for all the employees (25 or so). Our Pizza Hut is slammed right now. I agree that 20% seems kinda low but something is better than nothing.
