Looks like tomorrow, Palm Sunday 2010, will not be that active. However, there is a slight chance for severe weather.

A Week Early?

Even though severe weather outbreaks have occurred on Palm Sunday and Easter a few times in the past, this year's season is a little different. Due to the calendar setup, Palm Sunday and Easter is one week earlier than usual.

However, I do see a deep trough setup setting up in the Rockies for next Thursday-Friday. We could see a severe weather outbreak on Good Friday.

According to the SPC, there were nine reported tornadoes on Palm Sunday this year. All of them occurred in the state of North Carolina. Sort of a localized Palm Sunday event.
