• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Anyone looking for a powerful photo editing program and can't afford Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro X2 is on huge holiday sale right now.

$29.99 (normally $59.99) for the regular version and $59.99 (normally $99.99) for the ultimate version.
That's a heck of a deal if your looking for a powerful photo editing program and can't afford Photoshop. I use PSP for many photo editing things.

I note the text on that says sale ends Nov 23rd, but it's still in effect. Two of us I know bought it today at that price. You can get it download or have the box sent to you.
This version is MUCH more photo oriented that previous versions.

Wow awesome deal! I use Paint Shop Pro 7 now and I love it, but at this price I would be crazy not to upgrade. Thanks for sharing!!

I also just bought it for the holiday deal price :)

The past few years I relied on Paint.NET (free, www.getpaint.net), which has nice plugins, but it is slow on large files and some features introduce banding due to 8-bit-only processing. So I could not pass up this deal which includes also HDR and correction of distortions and better cloning stamps.
By the way, Canon's DPP raw processing software has become very good recently with the highlight and shadow sliders. I rarely need to use anything else for regular photos!

Happy holidays,
Oscar

Unfortunately PSP doesn't work on the Canon T1i RAW files, so that's quite a disappointment. As Oscar mentioned though, the DPP software that comes with the Canon really is pretty decent.

I've used this software since the late 90's and love it. Its a poor man's photoshop. Its lacking some features that Photoshop has, but I find the interface much easier to use and control. The shortcuts are more standard to Windows users, the menus better organized, and its not as easy to get lost. Although I find Adobe products in general to be a real pain.
