Once in a Lifetime Capture...

I had the opportunity to try some night photography this past Saturday with some good photographer friends of mine. We went to St John's Chapel in Bomarton, TX. While out light painting the church a giant meteor irrupted in the sky. It was so bright it lit up the foreground as if it was daytime. The meteor lasted about 4 sec and I just about fainted when I saw what was on my LCD. It was truly an incredible experience--something I may never capture again. Did anyone else see this? Such magical composition! Send this in to Astronomy Picture of the Day!

If I'm reading the constellations right, it looks like it sliced from Aquila down into Sagittarius (guessing it was moving top to bottom based on the slower buildup on top, was this the case?). If so, I don't know of any active meteor shower radiants up in that area (wouldn't be a Delta Aquariid or Alpha Capricornid). Probably was just a random meteor. Truly a great capture!
