Despite experiencing some of the most severe weather-related events in the nation, Oklahoma has no state laws requiring storm shelters in homes, apartments or businesses. Instead, storm shelters are marketed as a desirable, extra amenity in some new housing developments.
 
That is what happened in the single most deadly event in the forgotten Oak Grove F-5 that hit Metro Birmingham back in 1998

I seem to remember that family members were trying to move a person in a wheelchair downstairs when the tornado struck.

Jarrell in 97' and Moore in 99' were better remembered.
