It looks like at least one of these tornadoes that impacted Northern Alabama was assigned an EF-3 rating. Additional surveys will continue tomorrow to finalize this rating as noted. I'm assuming the pictures attached in this thread were from the track of that particular tornado (they aren't labeled), as it looks to be of that severity to me.

I'm surprised we didn't see stronger tornadoes back toward the west near Jackson, MS yesterday evening, where the balance of shear and instability appeared to be at its strongest. It appeared as though the strongest tornadoes occurred in Northern Alabama/Southern Tennessee where the shear was quite ridiculous, yet instability rather meager (as depicted on the 00z BMX sounding)....at least based on the damage surveys I've seen so far. It looked like most were after dark, so not many photos or video to really judge off. These high shear/low cape setups are fairly interesting to say the least.....
