ST has a way you can get notified (via email) if someone has replied to your thread or post. I was wondering if there was a way you can get notified via text/sms messaging?

I looked through the options in the User Control Panel and didn't see anything related to text messages, only e-mail. If someone else knows whether an SMS or text messaging option exists please let us know where it is located in the Control Panel.

Most cell phones have an email address attached to them, such that if you email [email protected] (or something like that) the email will be sent to your phone as a text message.
Based on this, set up a gmail account. Change your email with stormtrack to the gmail account. Create a gmail filter to forward all emails from @stormtrack.org to your cell phone's email address.

Now that you mention it Patrick my T-Mobile account and/or plan does have an e-mail address associated with it. I created it way back when and had forgotten about it as I never really used it. I should test it with my normal e-mail to see what type of message is sent out to determine how many characters the board software sends out to ensure I wouldn't exceed the SMS limit of 160 characters (I believe). I would caution anyone who is planning to do this to make sure your plan has unlimited text messaging so you don't incur additional monthly charges if you post frequently.
