Abe Holland
Hello All,
First off I would like to say hello to all of you here at Stormtrack and express my amusement with my new membership. I am a southeastern MN native who has always enjoyed the dynamics of weather, however it wasn't until June 17 of last year in which my enjoyment became a passion. I am sure many of you recall the mayhem on 6/17 of last year. I was traveling home from work when a massive wedge tornado reared over a hill just west of Clarks Grove, MN. This experience compelled me to become an avid weather enthusiast and it was this spring (May 19-26) in which a fellow storm chaser and I had our first extended storm chase on the great plains of CO, KS, OK, MO, and TN. Witnessing these beautiful and highly dangerous storms provided an excitement like no other. As a 5th year student and SkyWarn spotter hailing (no pun intended) from Duluth, MN, being able to procure wx reports and information provides me with an unmatched enjoyment.
I would like to ask the members here if you have any recommendations for hard copies regarding weather forecasting and chasing resources. My first purchased weather book, Tim Vasquez's Storm Chasing Handbook has proved invaluable and I would like to extend my collection beyond that of bookmarked online websites. DVD's? Other books? Thank You!
Cheers,
Abe Holland
