This question may not be as applicable with near future events. However, some early spring events, along with me now living closer to the border, have had me pondering this question. How and where do models get information about moisture south of the border? I think this question could also be asked about any other important variables too. When forecasting events close to the border it would be helpful to know how much you could trust those forecasted due points. If you know, or know where this information could be found, it would be greatly appreciated if you’d share.
