It may have been an active April in Dixie Alley, but havent seen that much in Tornado Alley this year, and since the beginnning of this month, based on SPC reports--
Number of tornadoes in
Kansas: 0
Oklahoma: 0
Texas: 0
Similar count last year, with the exception of May 10.
Whatever happened to the classic triple point setups in W KS and the Panhandles??
Next 10 days don't look terribly impressive either...
I just hope my stretch of time at the end of May and first part of June pays off, cause this is getting a bit depressing.

im right there with ya Stan. I have till the 25th and im not overly impressed with anything until next thursday/friday/saturday, and a whole week of downtime is not something i'm looking forward to, I came out to chase, and it looks like at the minimum an omega block is setting up, but both the GFS and ECMFW show some consistency in something towards next friday. Hopefully with any luck, those models will both change and something will kick out tuesday or wednesday.

The only 2 1/2 weeks I have to chase and it starts off with a big bust. very disappointing beginning to my chase tour. hope this turns around before I have to head back to Nashville on the 25th.

Kansas has been in a drought in general since 2008 with the exception of a few localized events in S. KS (5/10/10 to name one). I am sure the drought has played into the reason why severe weather is lacking.... 850 winds blowing in from the SW transporting 100 degree dry heat from W. TX. into a set up is no good. Typically La Nina focuses severe weather elsewhere in these years, but there hasn't really been a glaring Kansas outbreak since May 23rd. 2008. (Unless I am forgetting something)
