I think the forecaster here is sick of forecasting severe storms and then having them not happen with the coverage and intensity that he forecasted them at.

MODELS CERTAINLY
FORESHADOWING A BIG SEVERE WX EVENT OVER THE EASTERN PLAINS
THURSDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING...WITH THE SLOPPY SECONDS OF THAT
CONVECTION PROBABLY SPILLING INTO OUR CWA LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO
FRIDAY.

Never have I seen a residual MCS referred to as THAT!! LOL

Wow,, wait till his/her boss reads that this morning. Someone might be
working weekend third shifts for sometime to come,,, at the South Pole!

Hahaha....

And then there was OUN's Forecast Discussion mentioning the GFS wanting to send a 500mb low on a Mexican vacation. :)

LMFAO!! Wow, I did not expect to read that.

Kind of makes you wonder what he'd write if the storms take two days to reach LOT.

That's funny :)

Maybe I should send an email to the NWSFO in Topeka to see if they can change the way they write theirs up and add a little zest to the text. Hey after all its attention getting!

I was heading out of Amarillo, Texas for home on May 28, 1994, on a seemingly nothing, capped day, when I stopped by the NWS office and read the afternoon update a forecaster in Topeka, Kansas wrote, quoting, "he felt like he was sitting on a case of dynamite." (RE: our area). I stayed, and ended up with a great isolated supercell NE of Pampa that produced one of my best tornado shots. (Twister Poster). My favorite discussions come out of Dodge City, where the long range outlooks are always quite interesting -- especially the one yesterday... hint.

I remember personally doing a live shot outdoors of the weather forecast during a winter storm at 5am in the morning. I forgot my hat and heavy sleet was falling and pinging my head (I am somewhat follcily challenged).
Anyway, I must have still been half asleep because I suddenly said the following LIVE on air:

"And don't forget your winter hats folks or you'll be having all of these annoying little pricks hitting your head".

As the laughter erupted in my earpiece, I realized what i just said and explianed. LOL. What a classic....
