• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

First off, tried to use the search function but it appears everything before the new vbulletin update is unsearchable for some reason.

Anyway, these are the 2 options that I have been looking at. Im leaning towards the Panasonic TM700 over the Canon Vixia HF S200 because of the features and low light capability. Was wanting to stay under $500 but it looks like thats not going to happen

What are your thoughts?

Here are two that I have, If you like that Panasonic TM700 i think you will like this one: Panasonic HDC-HS250K. Its cheeper, but you also have the option to record to the hard drive and an sd card. its full HD, and does just about all i need it to: http://cgi.ebay.com/Panasonic-HDC-H...rofessional_Video_Cameras&hash=item2a0e402c9b

The other camcorder i have is this one Since i wanted one with a DV port: Sony HDR-HC3. It is also full HD and does all i need it to do. http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-HDR-HC3-Mi...rofessional_Video_Cameras&hash=item230e112421

Since you are wanting to stay around $500 i would suggest these since they are in your budget, full HD, should do all you need it to do.

I've got the previous version of the Panasonic and love it. It takes AMAZING video. Check out my youtube page for a bunch of videos shot with the Panasonic HS300. the TM700 uses SD cards. I don't know if that's a problem for you. I've got a 120GB Internal drive.

The Panasonic uses ~1/4" chips while the Canon uses ~1/2" chip. You'll get better low-light results with the larger chip (Canon). Though having 3 chips in the Panasonic may help offset that - and should give the Panasonic better color saturation in well-lit situations.
