LIGHTNING PROVING LETHAL IN THE U.S. THIS SUMMER

Yeah, I find that very few people tend to educate themselves on storm/lightning safety. Especially if they don't live in an area that is prone to severe weather.
 
If it has not already happened I think we see a chaser killed by lightning soon. In fact chances of this death for a chaser are much higher than by a tornado.

I was stunned watching a US chase DVD a few months back where a chaser a few cars in front the photographer actually climbed higher onto his car to get a better view - this was June 12 I think. There were numerous close CG's around. Frankly I would have risked getting closer to the tornado than climbing the car, at the least there is some more predictability with the tornado.

Has anyone got photos of lightning damage to a vehicle? I have often wondered just how much damage a good lightning strike could do to a vehicle.
