• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Took this 15 second exposure picture of the cell that dropped the tornadoes near protection monday night... I set the camera on the dash and opened the shutter...

Very neat. I'm curious as to what the other parameters of the photograph were. Could you please display the EXIF info? Thanks.

I have been messing around with doing that too. Havent got anything good this year but last year (9-22) I got a nice shot.

I didnt have it on anything I was just holding it as still as I could. The lightning with this storm was ridiculous...I was shooting bulb (so I could release as soon as it there was lightning so as not have more lights than needed) but this was only a 1 second exposure, at F10, 18mm, ISO400.

This year I have put my camera on a sticky pod and it looks much better...just havent got a good shot yet.

GREAT pic! Just curious, what are the streaks of white and yellow on either side of the road?

I know the yellow is a road sign that would be placed on the side of the road near a small bridge. It is lit by the head lights. If you look at this picture, its the fourth row up, 2nd from the right...

As for the white light... I think there is a house on both sides of the road on top of the hill with each having a yard light. The lightning happened early on in the frame lighting up the grove of trees around each house. Then the rest of the time the frame was dark with the exception of the yard lights as they were coming closer to the camera. Make sense?

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting.

*EDIT* HMMM in looking closer, the yellow light on the left seems to originate at the same place as the yard light, so I am thinking that is a window of the house there, with a light on inside.

thanks. honestly I dont see how you got a 15 second exposure to look that good. the road must have been perfect! mine was only 1 second and its all screwy. So far this year I got plenty of road but no lightning and none have as little "light mess" as yours. How fast were you going? And You said you had it on dash? no pod or anything?
