Kestrel products

I've been wanting a psychrometer, and I'm impressed with the offerings I've seen by Kestrel. I'm considering their top-of-the-line model, the Kestrel 4500. But before I slap down $300, I'd like to get a little input. Who here owns a Kestrel? Which model do you own and what is your opinion of it?

Also--does anyone own a hand-held "weather station" that includes a psychrometer and that, in your opinion, rivals the Kestrel models?

Hi, Bob. I dont own a Kesterel, but I do own a handheld Aneometer. Are you wanting it to measure windspeed, or do you want to measure temp, etc? If you just want an anemoter, I could reccomend this one.

I've had that handheld aneometer for a couple years now and am very happy with it's operation.

Bob I have the Kestrel 3000, the one right below the 4500. I like mine, it does work well. Tyler Costantini has the 4500 that he just got, you might PM him and ask how he likes it. I like that unit wish I would have waited but mine works fine.

I also have the Kestrel 3000 and it has worked very well for me.Being able to hang it around your neck is handy (at least for me).

I have the 4000. I think I paid $200 for a brand new one on Ebay. Look around you can probably get a good deal. No complaints. Does what it says.
