Don't know how I missed this one. The jokes write themselves.

Noah's Ark Encounter: Kentucky attraction sues insurance company over damage caused by heavy rains - CBS News

Williamstown, Ky. 5/25/2019— In the Bible, the ark survived an epic flood. Yet the owners of Kentucky's Noah's ark attraction are demanding their insurance company bail them out after heavy rains caused nearly $1 million in property damage.

The Ark Encounter says in a federal lawsuit that rains in 2017 and 2018 caused a landslide on its access road. The lawsuit says the road has been rebuilt. The ark was not damaged.

The Courier Journal reports the attraction's insurance carriers refused to cover the damage, however.

The suit names Allied World Assurance Co. Holdings of Switzerland, its use company and three other insurance carriers.

Ark Encounter seeks compensatory and punitive damages. The Swiss company hasn't responded in court filings.

The 510-foot-long wooden ark has been a popular northern Kentucky attraction since its 2016 opening. Answers in Genesis, the company that operates the Ark Encounter, also operates the Creation Museum in Petersburg, which opened its doors in 2007.

The owner's of Northern Kentucky's Noah's Ark replica, who sued their insurers in 2019 over rain damage, plan to settle the lawsuit.

In a joint notice filed Thursday in an Eastern Kentucky court, The Ark Encounter and Allied World Assurance Company wrote they have settled the case and will file an Agreed Order of Dismissal in the next 45 days.

The lawsuit was over a reported $1 million in damage from heavy rains in 2017 and 2018, which the Ark Encounter said caused a landslide on its access road which its insurance refused to cover.

The Ark itself, a 510-foot-long model unveiled in 2016 that is based on the Biblical ark in which Noah and his family survived a flood, was not damaged by the rain.
