• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kansas, is seeking a Chief Meteorologist.
The successful candidate will anchor KAKE’s
weekday evening newscasts, manage our team
of meteorologists and severe weather coverage
from the Emmy-winning KAKEland WeatherPlex.

The successful candidate must have a degree in
meteorology or a related field, and at least three
years broadcast experience. Candidates must have
the ability to correctly interpret Doppler radar data
and communicate severe weather threats.

AMS status is required. Knowledge of the use of
WSI, Baron, and Weather Central systems is beneficial.

Wonder where Jay is headed....

I know the situation and from what I know without giving away the specifics of what is going on, I will just suggest this, and not make a big public scene out of this, If you appreciate what Jay has done for KAKE the last 4 years, email the current News Director Dave Grant at [email protected] and let him know you want him to stay and will be very dissapointed and may not possibly watch them anymore if he does leave..

I honestly didn't think he was that great and I'm not just saying that because I chase for a competing station. I forget the guys name right now, but the guy KAKE had as their chief before Jay booted him out of the spot did a pretty good job. I can't believe I don't remember his name. Last time I checked he was doing KAKE's morning show, but that was a while back. I think they should promote him back up to chief. I didn't bother to read the article, but if Jay just had a kid that sucks if he's out of a job. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. If he got pushed out then I wish him the best. I'm sure he can find another job real soon. There are plenty of stations out there looking for mets that have experience in tornado alley.

Thought I would bump this to say Jay signed a new deal and is staying put at KAKE and in Wichita for atleast a few more years.
