Yes (if you live in parts of the midwest and canada), the sun did have a strange orangish color to it today. Why?
It's because of wildfires in canada and this is also why whenever volcanoes erupt and the ash stays around, it creates stunning sunsets since it reflects light differently. This is also why it's been hazy if you noticed. The smoke spread southeast into the U.S. so depending on where you are, if you see an orange-yellow sun today, it's because of wildfires and the wind.
