• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Does anyone one know of a app that issues warnings like from national weather service? any suggestions? will radarscope ever add this feature? that would be great.

Just open the SPC main warning site or the http://kamala.cod.edu/svr/
site to the browser window, then hit the + button, then add to the Home Screen. Rename it it someone with a short ID like "WRN." and you are set. I keep my iPhone in a charging cradle with "no sleep" option on, so I can just hit refresh. The other option is to use a paging (email) system offered by multiple outlets -- good for consumers but maybe overkill and too much unwanted data for most chasers. ONLY A FEW WEEKS UNTIL THE FUN BEGINS!!!!

Greg, while Storm Spotter has the features I can tell you from experience that the app is Terrible in the field. It freezes and is really slow. It takes a ton of bandwidth compared to RadarScope (doesn't provide watch/warning boxes as of now). Storm Spotter is slow even on my WiFi at home which is on a Cable Modem. I would not rely on it while chasing.

I use www.srh.noaa.gov/oun/monitor/warningdisplay.php It loads quickly and shows a color map of OKlahoma with counties currently under warnings.

Give "Weather USA" a shot and see how you like it. It was $0.99 last I looked and it has forecast info, watches and warnings via push and GPS localization to let you know the wx where you are. Of course everything is customizable to make it useful for pretty much whatever you need it for.
This used to be a bare-bones NWS aggregater but has evolved nicely over the past year.
