Invest 92L

As hurricane Dean has occupied a lot of the conversation, I thought I'd throw this out there. Models are developing this tropical low into an 87KT hurricane approaching the SE coast of FL by the weekend. Wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this system.

Lots of folks looking at Dean, which I think is a done deal, forecast wise, but I too have been watching 92L and agree it will be a TS soon.

Very interesting indeed. it's far enough north, yet looks like it'll head west due to being influenced by the strong subtropical high to its north. This could spell trouble for FL and even the northern Gulf Coast with time. I'm definitely beginning to shift focus to this wave.

The deeper convection associated with the disturbance seems to have died down a little this evening. It was mentioned in the discussion I was reading that there was some dry air in the vicinity which might make conditions less conducive for development, but it was added that conditions would become very favorable for further strengthening in the coming days. It will be interesting to watch if nothing else. There is also a nice looking wave moving through the Lesser Antilles islands today. I guess it's just a waiting game now.

I've looked at this wave and it is extremely unorganized. The models don't do too much with it except for the Canadian run. I would not expect much to happen with this system and will probably fall apart. But...it is in a favorable SST area so anything could happen. I just don't see much happening given its current state.

Just one of those deals where it looked good on one day and the next was completely different. Stick a fork in this one....

Yeah, I'd say this one is "dead in the water" so to speak. Still haven't hit the peak of the season though.
