Hey,

I was wondering if I could get any information about internship with storm chasers? I am currently doing my bachelor in Atmospheric Sciences in Canada, but I would love to do an internship with storm chasers in the US. Ideally as a driver or something.

Usually the term "internship" is associated with some sort of academic institution... I can't imagine any would consider driving a car to storms to be a true intern role? Are you actually talking about as part of your education, or do you just want to ride along with a storm chase team?

Well I would like to ride along. But I am currently doing a Bachelor in Atmospheric Sciences and at my third year, the school offers a Storm Chasing class. This class allows to go chase storms and get credits in our program for doing so.

No, by internship I mean just tagging along with chasers to get some experience, like driving them around or something since I love to drive and I am pretty good at it. I would pay my fair share of the gas or whatever. I just don't want to have to pay like 3000-7000$ for a week of chasing with a tour, just to get some experience. I plan in making a career out of meteorology and to chase every opportunity I get. But because I would mostly chase on my own here in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, it is really hard to find a chase partner for this area. Therefore, an "internship" with experienced chasers in the US would be an awesome opportunity for me.
