Hey all,

So we all know that there are tornado WATCHES, WARNINGS and even EMERGENCIES, high risk days and so on. At many times, we are disappointed to find out that the "big event" never happened and that there wasn't even near enough "oomph" for thus event to happen. So my question to you, if, how would you better the system by making changes?

What would YOU do to improve the issuing of watches, warnings, high risks and etc.?

Discuss and debate :)

I've noticed over the years that the SPC and NWS have becoming significantly experienced and skills in issues all of their products and making them publicly available. So much so that it may be a bit much. I guess I am referring to "convergence" rather it be chaser, spotter, or just the general public. Nowadays, I'm leaning toward the idea that some of these products should be kept from the public. Perhaps Outlooks and Mesoscale Discussions should not be disseminated to the public? I think that would severely cut back on the amount of convergence issues on storms. On the other hand I can also see the benefit of alerting emergency services, spotters, and disaster preparedness, including the public of the approaching danger. Probably most use the information to prepare. Much of the public may change their travel plans if a tornado outbreak may occur and they are aware of it. I just also think not having those products out in the open would cut back on all the craziness around the storms and on the roads. I'd like to see the convergence go away. I've experienced it at it's worst many times and it ain't fun. I suppose since I can forecast however that may be a bit selfish of me because many other chasers cannot. Still I think it would be fun to just be able to go back 20 years where we really had to work on our own for what pictures we took and what storms we were able to intercept. Actually, most of the time I try and avoid SPC products on a chase, but I'd like to see everyone else do the same. Just my opinion, I realize it would never work. LOL!

I would build a time machine so I could send forecasters into the future so that they could come back to accurately predict and warn the public.

That or make the models perform perfectly.
