Groundwater & Subsidence Issues in SE AZ

Warrren, I thought you might be particularly interested in the topic of this article, which is affecting southeastern Arizona. At least Tucson is doing such a good job with groundwater management that land subsidence has stopped...What can you tell us first-hand about these issues?

Thanks for the heads up on this story. I'll be watching for more information. Interestingly, there are actually highway signs along some roads and highways down near Wilcox warning of sudden "fissures" due to this problem. My concern would be for seismic activity or huge sinkholes, as massive hollow reservoirs could theoretically collapse. (Induced seismicity - Wikipedia). I have witnessed massive cracks SE of Safford while out exploring some old volcanic beds.
