Would like others to see my photos

Would like others to see my photos . I have some on my blogs and websites but am unable to post some photos like others do. I have photos also on my desktop that I want to post directly to stormforum reply area. All I see is posted to website.

Or, if you don't have a website, use a photo hosting service such as Photo Bucket to upload photos from your computer, then use the URL of the photos you've uploaded.

I will post on my blog . I have to do more work on the websites and uploading. I just thought there was a way to upload from desktop and place on forum thread.

Have you tried the Insert Image button (bleow the Undo button) in the Reply editor? Or the Attachment button (paperclip)?

I attached the picture below by clicking on the paperclip, and when the dialog box opened, I browsed to My Pictures and uploaded this shot of the backside of a storm off to my east from earlier this year. I know it's not a very good shot, but I only have a really cheap camera right now.

other buttons

The one under the undo , as I said, inserts from a website url. Attachment might work. Still there should be a way to insert from the desktop or hard drive.

thanks

It's pretty common practice these days on forums to put your image up "someplace' i.e. website, photobucket, something... and link it from there.

Your "desktop" is on your hard drive, but the forum is not a drag and drop windows application.

Eric,

Just get a photobucket.com account. Hit "browse" to find the photo (I would recommend resizing your photo first to 800 x***) You can get a free resizing program like this one http://www.irfanviewpack.com/ (Or any photo resizer available on www.download.com) It is a decent program to process photos too.

Then, after you have uploaded them, there is a box underneath the photo, click that, then hit "Generate HTML code." Choose the one for "Message boards", then copy and paste the URL here. If you've uploaded multiple photos, just click each box for the amount you want, then hit the "Generate HTML code" and copy and paste. Hope this helps.

Many thanks

That gives a better idea. Still working with blogs all one has to do is
click on an icon and then get the photo from the desktop /drive and wala- there it is.
thanks

Yeah, uploading to blogs is easy, but if you don't resize, it can take forever (or sometimes not at all.) Some blogs won't let you hotlink to other sites, (like blogger.com) for bandwidth issues.

I hate it when people post pics on here that are huge in size, and take forever to load, when all they needed to do was resize it (the resolution will be the same). If you are on the road with a cell connection, it can take awhile.

yeah resizing

Yes that is true . Others should downsize their image sizes on forum so that are not so big
