GR2AE now shows Level II data from TDWR

Beta testing began today for TDWR/SPG Build 10.0 and With the following radar.gis edit, you can now get Level II data from the TDWR in Oklahoma City!

So, related question. I plan to chase with a PC (Windows) what is the "best" radar app to get? I know that radarscope is great on the smartphone, but does it also have a good PC version? Is GRL3 worth the cost? And does it do any Level 2 data? Thanks.

GR2AE is the best.

GRL3 is also worth it.

GRL3 does Level 3, GR2AE does Level 2.

GR2AE is the best.

GRL3 is also worth it.

GRL3 does Level 3, GR2AE does Level 2.

I have all three and Radarscope is my favorite. Level 2 does take longer to load which can be an issue if cell service is not great.

Honestly, GRL3 is likely the best all-around radar software for most chasers, considering laptop usage. GR2AE Is great, considering 3D visualization, but can be a resource hog if not configured for mobile use. GREarth is pretty cool from my understanding, but I don't really use it. Never been able to get it running on my ancient laptop.

For reflectivity only, and availability without cell service, there is always Baron Mobile Threat Net.

I have made those changes to radars.gis, but, I still don't see any TDWR sites in GR2AE. Is there something else needed?

Stop polling, open the config, select IAState, and hit "refresh"

I've noticed I had to change the small integers towards the end of each TDWR entry from 3 to 1 to get it to display in my client. Also, I can tell that many of them are not yet transmitting level 2 data.

I'm not sure what that last digit even means, but Mike is working on the .gis format to make it more compatible.

TOKC is the only radar during the beta test. I have not heard a timeframe for release.
