Fun things you see while chasing

I shot this before I got my dome. I was worried about the MPs pulling me over for video tapping lol. There were close to 100 vehicles in the convoy.

Yeah, Brian, its a windmill turbine blade. We see them daily on the highway north of Dallas, and they really are SO cool.

This last spring while chasing in north Kansas, we came across some guys chasing and towing around THIS:

They stayed in the same hotel we did that night, so we asked what it was. From memory, I think they said they were from Sweden and the ice cream cone was for weather modification. Their theory was to get it near a tornado, "turn it on", and it would cause the tornado to dissipate. You can't make this stuff up.

The other thing is, the amazing farm houses. LOOK at what high winds have done to this home. But she didn't come down. You wonder, who built this home. What stories played out here. Whoever built it would be proud to know his home still stands. He did a hell of a job.

While on a chase in central Minnesota we came across this while driving:

One of those moments where we just stopped and thought.."Are those just out in the wild here..?" Maybe they are but I haven't seen one just strolling down the street, especially on a chase. Def a moment to stop and grab a pic..

I've known a number of people who kept peacocks as pets on farms and ranches. They make great watchdogs, as there's no missing the call when they crank it up.

We were on a storm with them and it started putting down baseball size hail and they had to run for cover for fear of damaging it. It was supposed to generate a huge electrical charge, with the idea that it would kill a tornado. It would make a cool front yard ornament ;-)

At risk of showing my inner geek, that looks more like the Doomsday Machine from Star Trek than it does a tornado from that angle. The Tornado Doomsday Machine, I guess we'd call it then?
