Forecasting Resource

I will be going on my first chase soon and I was wondering what forecasting book/resource would help me pinpoint the location of a severe thunderstorm ahead of time. I know it takes a lot of practice and i know a little about forecasting but not a lot. I have researched college textbooks and looked at Tim Vasquez's forecasting books and I was wondering which one would help a beginner the best.

Tim's books are pretty good, but I'd recommend you use something like the JetStream program and The Weather Prediction:

Forecasting is a bit difficult for a beginner because it's hard to find a spot in wide world of forecasting knowledge to start. I find that it's like watching a merry-go-round spin and you're attempting to just jump on it while it's moving, but you've got to just jump right in!

meted is a great resource but start at the basics. First you are going to want to learn how to analyze before you start forecasting. The skew T is very important as well, it seems tricky at first but it becomes very useful and easy to understand as your experience increases.
