If you are a weather tragic like me you will look at MODIS sat pics almost every day.
An interesting sequence unfolded in eastern South Africa over the last few days.
The picture link below shows a raging bushfire in the northern part of the picture, possibly near or in Kruger National Park, whilst in the same frame there is very extensive and fresh snow cover in Lesotho and parts of the eastern cape.

Just 24 hours earlier there was only specks of fire and only scant remnants of snow from earlier in the month remained.
