Behind a paywall, but you can read the first part and it says that the estate of one of the Weather Channel chasers (either Randall Yarnell or Kelley Williamson) has settled with Corbin Jaeger's mom.

The estate of one of the storm chasers who was in a car that struck another while they were filming for the Weather Channel—killing all three people involved—has settled negligence claims filed by the mother of the driver of the other car, the parties told the Northern District of Texas.

It is not clear if this impacts the lawsuit against Weather Group Television LLC (dba The Weather Channel) which is set to go to trail on May 3rd.

Interesting side note in the case against Weather Group Television LLC the judge has already ruled that storm chasing is not an inherently dangerous activity under Texas law.

On a sidebar note, a chaser "reportedly" ran a stop sign yesterday (4-28) in Texas and caused an accident with substantial damage but no serious injuries. I don't have any details. Someone can start a thread if it's worth detailing.

I found the article I posted above when I was looking for info on the incident Warren mentions after seeing a tweet with a link to a GoFundMe. I still can't find any information online about the 4-28-2021 incident. The GoFundMe page had no details other than it happened in Texas and they claimed it was caused by a storm chaser running a stop sign.

I did some more research and the lawsuit filed by Jaeger's mom against Weather Group Television LLC has been settled out of court. On April 9, 2021 the attorneys meet for ADR (Alternate Dispute Resolution) and "settled in part". On April 26, 2021 the judge issued the following order:

ORDER: This case is ADMINISTRATIVELY CLOSED without prejudice to its being reopened to enter an order of dismissal or to enter other orders if the settlement is not consummated. Counsel in this case are ORDERED to file appropriate dismissal papers on or before 60 days from the date of this Order. The Court's trial setting of May 3, 2021, is hereby VACATED.
